Stope Washer
The Murray Engineering Stope Washer is designed to remove leftover rubble hung up in production stopes with increased safety and efficiency at the forefront. Traditional stope washers have low-volume, low-pressure water lines with an effective reach of around 10m. This introduces engineering inefficacies, a negative impact on ore recovery and leaves operators working too close to the stope brow with significant safety concerns.
A PROVEN SOLUTION
Utilising the Normet Spraymec unit for proven reliability, the 6050W carrier’s low profile allows it to be used in multiple applications where access might otherwise be restricted. The integrated remote control system allows personnel to carry out scaling at a safe distance from the brow and any potential rill of material.
With the Bondioli MF341B3G6 fixed displacement hydraulic motor and high-pressure system, and 40m reach @150PSI coupled with a 3000L on-board tank, the unit is capable of completing large-scale remote jobs without the need to refill. The machine has been developed following mining requirements and user needs, and is compatible with Teleop systems.
The versatility of the tank and pump concept means it can be adapted to most OEM carriers along with various add-ons including, pump and motor combinations, hose reels and water filters for poor water quality.

The Murray Engineering Stope Washer tank has been designed and positioned so the centre of gravity is lower than that of the original configuration.
Load points of the tank and equipment were carefully considered so as to not overload or stress existing components.
Weight and stability calculations show the stope washer to be operating inside the capabilities of an unmodified Sparaymec, which alleviates the need to make any changes to the steering geometry or brakes.
The Stope Washer has a reach of up to 40 metres- ensuring that personnel are kept a safe distance away from the stope itself.
Extended periods of use are achievable using the 3” connection at the rear of the tank.
Surface treatment options are also available for harsh water qualities.
